Weingut Von Gropper-Brutscher
Nine and a half hectares, father and son do every step themselves. Their logo stands for earth, air and water.

Behind this romantic and nostalgic estate lies craftsmanship that sets the standard. Knowledge passed down through the generations was handed on by father Kurt Brutscher to his son Georg, who studied oenology at Geisenheim University. The estate was founded by Kurt Brutscher and Elisabeth von Gropper, both from families with a long winegrowing tradition. The estate has just 9.5 hectares of vineyards, which means maximum attention goes to the vines, the growing and the vinification.
The young Georg Brutscher combines the most modern techniques with the latest insights in sustainable viticulture, centred on reducing CO2 emissions and on the absorption of CO2 by the vineyards. In addition, insect life, and with it the planet, is spared. Their refined winemaking techniques have made the estate a leading name in the Pfalz wine region. The Pfalz is relatively dry and warm, which makes it one of the best wine regions in Germany.
The logo symbolises the estate's sustainability policy: the lion stands for the earth, the eagle for the air and the sun, and the fish for water.
This estate, too, is small enough to know every vineyard and every barrel. Father and son carry out every step themselves, from growing the grapes to making the wine, and nothing is directed from ‘management’. They can draw on a long winemaking tradition from both families, but also on the latest vinification techniques, with an eye on a changing climate.
