Bodegas Dolores
Sixty-year-old Garnacha in the Sierra Pardos. Named after Dolores Peinador, whose romance became an opera.

Bodegas Agustín Cubero, also known as Bodegas La Dolores, is a fifth-generation family estate with a rich winemaking tradition. The 60-year-old Garnacha vineyards lie in the Sierra Pardos at 500 to 1,400 metres of altitude, with fine sun exposure, perfect for ripening Garnacha beautifully. Garnacha has been planted on these soils of slate and gravel (rock and pebbles) for centuries.
La Dolores refers to the very attractive Dolores Peinador, who around 1876 fell in love with a man her father did not approve of! The tempestuous romance that followed became legendary and has been immortalised in a book (José Felíu), in an opera (Tomás Bretón) and in this iconic wine!
