Château Tayet
Ten hectares on the former marshland of the Gironde. With Petit Verdot in the blend.

Next to Margaux and Cantenac, in the heart of the Médoc, lies the small village of Macau. This is where Chateau Tayet is based. The vineyards cover 10 hectares and the soil consists of clay and silt. The vineyard was originally planted on the former marshlands of the Gironde.
Thanks to skilled and intensive pruning, the vines are in excellent condition. The vines have an average age of 30 years. The owner of the chateau is Jacques de Schepper. The winemaker is none other than Jean-Michel Garcion.
Chateau Tayet's current name dates from 1994. In 1993 the De Schepper family took over the chateau from Mr Marc Raymond. At that time the chateau was called Les Charmilles.
The De Schepper family was well aware of the enormous quality potential of this estate. Given the condition of the vines, the microclimate and the composition of the soil, this estate can produce top-quality grapes. The grape varieties in question are Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot.
